Prerequisites: Current CPR certification with AED training. American Heart Association (AHA)-Healthcare provider or American Red Cross-Professional Rescuer are accepted. All students must receive a background check, 9 panel drug screen and submit a current TB test and copy of all immunizations prior to registering for the course.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student may be eligible for testing and certification at the State level with the recommendation of the course coordinator and medical director. The curriculum meets the requirements for the National Registry of EMTs and students are eligible to obtain a national certification following certification through the State of Utah.

Students will be required to complete a Background screen, and 9 panel drug screen. The cost for the background screen is $49.50. The cost for the 9 panel drug screen is $46.00. Once you have submitted your complete application, we will call you to schedule an interview which will include, but not be limited to prudence, exhibition of good judgment, scenario based questions and competence. Interviews are conducted beginning October 10th. Your application and interview will then by reviewed by a panel that will select the top 16 applicants to be accepted into the program as well as possible alternatives if space becomes available. All applicants will receive written formal notification of their status via US Mail. If you were declined acceptance, you may reapply the following year, but you will be required to submit a whole new application.
